Alberto García-Basteiro

Dr. Alberto García-Basteiro is currently responsible for the area of study on Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS at the (CISM). he graduated in medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain, and completed his internship in preventive medicine and public health at Hospital Clinic de Barcelona. He holds a Master's Degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), was an intern at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Costa Rica, and participated in several research projects and clinical trials on diseases related to poverty. He is professor of Masters in Global Health at the University of Barcelona / ISGlobal. Since September 2015, he has also been affiliated with the Amsterdam Institute for Health and Global Development (AIGHD).
