With the aim of enhancing technical-scientific collaboration, the Manhiça Health Research Center (CISM) and the National Institute of Health (INS) held a meeting last Monday (17th) in Marracuene. Led by General Directors Francisco Saúte and Eduardo Samo Gudo, respectively, the discussion focused on strengthening institutional ties and optimizing the capabilities of each organization to foster greater synergy and impact.
“The collaboration between the two institutions should be guided by the principle of complementarity, ensuring that in future calls for proposals, CISM and INS leverage their unique strengths to maximize funding opportunities. Furthermore, it was agreed that enhancing the visibility of their activities and research results requires collaboration with entities such as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Communications and Digital Transformation, and UNESCO. The goal is to address and find solutions to key challenges affecting research implementation, including the importation of laboratory consumables, research products, and related items,” stated the General Director of CISM
The goal is to fully leverage each institution’s strengths in research, outreach, training, and management. To achieve this, a joint working group will be established, comprising senior researchers and support staff from both organizations.
It is important to highlight that these two Mozambican institutions specialize in biomedical research, aiming to generate scientific evidence. Their work provides essential insights for decision-makers to design and implement effective health policies, ultimately improving public health both nationally and globaly.
